Arrive in San Francisco

Arrive in San Francisco and transfer to the hotel in downtown San Francisco. Check in, freshen up and enjoy a welcome cocktail function to learn about the week ahead and network with your fellow delegates. Your tour manager will present some background on the history of Silicon Valley and why it has become so influential. Delegates need to arrive in time for the function which commences at 7pm.

Accelerator/Incubator Tour & Presentations

Boot Camp begins in San Francisco where we will spend time at the startup incubator that produced some major startup successes including Instagram, 99 Designs and Etsy to name a few. We will meet with the Founder Steve Hoffman and learn about what it is these companies do differently and meet with some of their existing startups. In the afternoon we will spend time with Silicon Valley’s preeminent experts on startup/corporate collaboration and examine business models, case studies and begin preparation for our innovation pitch competition on Friday

Accelerator/Incubator Tour & Presentations

Boot Camp begins in San Francisco where we will spend time at the startup incubator that produced some major startup successes including Instagram, 99 Designs and Etsy to name a few. Google Visit & Presentations

Today we commence with a lecture by Dr. Andrey Kunov, on the subject of technology driven innovation trends and the secret sauce of Silicon Valley. Dr Kunov’s presentation will be followed by a campus tour of Google where we explore the creation and nurturing of an innovation culture, incorporating a presentation from a Google expert plus a Q&A session. After lunch we will visit Marketo to learn about new approaches to digital and omni-channel marketing, inbound marketing and content marketing, as well as tour of their HQ and a Q&A session.

Today we will visit Apple and view a presentation by a senior Apple employee on the subjects of Design Thinking to Drive Innovation, and Lean Innovation Management. Next we will visit AirBnB and discuss the future of the sharing economy. This will include a presentation from an expert on Open Innovation, and Customer Centric Innovation, as well as a tour of their HQ, and a Q&A session. In the afternoon we will visit the Institute for the Future. They are an independent, non-profit research group with almost 50 years of forecasting experience. The core of their work is identifying emerging trends and discontinuities that will transform global society and the global marketplace. Our visit will include a presentation from an expert on Innovation as a Process, Digital Transformation, a HQ tour and Q&A session. Afterwards we will visit LinkedIn for a presentation on new trends in social media, Big data impact, Media/Social media Analytics, Programmatic / Predictive Analytics including a HQ tour followed by a Q&A session.

Today we will visit one of Silicon Valleys most successful and sought after incubator/accelerator’s to meet with the founders and take in their perspective on what makes a great emerging business and how the Startup mindset is key to getting it right. We will meet with startups to hear their stories and visit an organization bringing IOT (internet of things) products to the world stage. This evening will also include a cocktail function with a chance to meet and network with some cutting edge IOT startups and developers.

Today consists of a morning workshop that will reflect on the leanings of the previous days and put your innovation skills to the test. This workshop applies the Lean Startup principles we have examined during the week. We will explore the key messages of the tour and look at how they can be applied to our own businesses. We will discuss practical examples and workshop ideas for deriving the most benefit from what Silicon Valley has taught us. In the afternoon delegates will breakout into groups and compete to pitch a winning idea. The winning idea will be transformed into a value proposition and tested live on the web in real-time to fully experience how startups are innovating at lightning speed.

All tour content is included, you just need to add your airfare

5 nights accommodation in 5 star hotels is provided. The hotels will be advised closer to the tour dates, once final numbers and availability is confirmed.
